Rosalie Hale was born in 1915 in Rochester, New York. Her father was a banker who thought that the reason he had a job was because he was really good at it and a hard worker, but it was really all just luck. Her parents liked to buy her pretty dresses, and buy expensive things, and it was obvious that Rosalie was their favorite child; to Rosalie, the Great Depression was just a silly rumor. She knew that she was very beautiful and was delighted that mens’ eyes watched her everywhere she went from the year she turned twelve.

One day, her father forgot his lunch and her mother told her to put on her dress and roll up her hair just to run it over to the bank. Rosalie thought the request was outrageously silly, but she did as she was asked.

And then she met Royce King II, the owner of the bank. She did notice that he watched her a lot, but thought nothing of it since all the men did. From then on, every morning roses would show up in her room. It got to the point that when she would leave the house, she would smell like roses. Royce told her that her eyes resembled violets; then violets started showing up with the roses.

Rosalie was vain enough that she was very happy. Royce was everything she and her parents had dreamed of. Rosalie figured it was only to be expected. Life was perfect for her. Royce was everything she had ever wanted. He was tall, blond, handsome, and extremely rich. She had not known him for two months before they were engaged. They attended many parties and balls and feasts.

All of her friends at school had envied her beauty, sighing as they had run their fingers through her long, gorgeous, golden hair while Rosalie had just smiled in vain. But now it was her turn to feel envious. One night, she was visiting her best girlfriend, Vera, at her and her husband’s tiny cottage. Her husband was a carpenter, someone Rosalie’s parents never would have considered for her. But that was the first time Rosalie had ever felt envious of anyone in her life. Vera had a beautiful baby boy named Henry with dark curly hair. And Rosalie noticed something else. When Vera’s husband kissed her when he thought Rose wasn’t looking, it wasn’t the same as when Royce kissed Rosalie. It wasn’t so sweet  somehow. But Rosalie dismissed the thoughts because soon, she’d be married and have pretty babies too.

It was dark when she left, and she hadn’t meant to stay out so late. It had started get colder outside, and she was worried about the weather; she didn’t want to have to wedding indoors. She could’ve called for her father to escort her home, but it was such a short walk that she didn’t because it seemed silly.

She was almost home when she saw a few drunken men, and when she looked closer, she realized that one of them was Royce. But at first, that didn’t make sense to her. Royce had told her he didn’t like the taste of champagne. It didn’t occur to her that he might like something stronger. As she got nearer, Royce shouted “Here’s my Rose!” and grabbed her by the arm. He yelled drunkenly at her to show them what she looked like, and tore her cloak off her. He bragged about her beauty, which led to her being beaten and left to die in the streets.

Carlisle smelled the blood and went to investigate. He found Rosalie and took her to his home, where he bit her. The pain of the venom coursing through her veins hurt so much that she was screaming a lot. Carlisle and Esme tried to comfort her, telling her what they were, what she would be, and that it would be over soon.  At first she did not believe them. But when the pain finally stopped, she saw her bright red eyes, felt the scorching thirst, and that was enough proof for her.

Later she tracked down the men who had left her to die, and she murdered them. She saved Royce for last, and made him suffer. She hoped that he would be afraid, and she thinks it worked because when she found him he was hiding in a locked, windowless room with two guards outside the door. But of course, that wasn’t any inconvenience to her. She killed seven men total, but she was very careful not to spill their blood (the two guards made seven); she did not want any part of Royce in her.

Rosalie is very vain and self-centered, and would give up anything and everything to be human again so she could have children.

She is the adopted daughter of Carlisle and Esme Cullen, the wife of Emmett Cullen, and the sister of Alice, Jasper, Edward, and Bella. She has cousins in the Denali Coven.

     Esme Cullen was born in 1895 in Columbus, Ohio. When she was sixteen, she broke her leg falling out of a tree, and her parents drove her many miles before they finally found a doctor. The doctor was Carlisle Cullen.

     When she was 25, Charles Evenson proposed to her, and her parents encouraged her to accept. Though she felt indifferent towards him, she had nothing against him so she accepted. But the man he was in the public eye was not who he really  was; he abused her. Her parents counseled her and told her to keep quiet.  When she found out she was pregnant, though, she ran away to one of her cousins; a child couldn’t be brought up in that kind of home. But word leaked out to her parents about where she was staying, and  she had to move on again.

     Esme gave birth to a son, who died just a few days after his birth of a lung infection. Mournful of his death, Esme attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff. Presumed dead, she was brought right around to the morgue. But Carlisle was able to sense her heartbeat, and he remembered her from back when she was sixteen, so he changed her into a vampire. The two fell in love, and married not long afterwards. And as one of his many gifts to her,  he purchased a South American island for her, and named it “Isle Esme”.

Bella was 3 days from her nineteenth birthday when she was turned into a vampire. Edward was hard-pressed to get his venom to her heart fast enough because Bella was dying from loss of blood. She lived in Pheonix, Arizona with her mother and Phil before she finally went to Forks, Washington to live with her father because she wanted her mother to be happy. Needless to say, that’s where she met the love of her existance, Edward Cullen, her best friends, and happiness. Yeah, okay, I know that sounds kind of cheesy, but I just do not care, so get over yourself. She was seventeen and a junior in high school when she first came to Forks, the rainiest place in the Olympic Peninsula. She is very mature for her age, and very non-whiney for a teenager. She has quite a few admirers in Forks, and of course her best friend Jacob down on the rez in La Push. She brings out strange reactions in vampires, in my opinion. They’re very different. Some hate her and some love her and everything else in between. Her parents divorced when she was just a baby, and she used to spend summers in Forks till she finally put her foot down when she was 11, which ended those trips immediately. So then she just spent two weeks in Califonia with her dad in a hotel. When she was human, she was very shy. She couln’t lie, because she would always blush, which, obviously, would give her lie away. So in the third book, when Edward and Bella were talking, Bella said that she lied all the time. And Edward said that she was such a bad liar that it didn’t really count because no one actually believed her. Which, of course, was true. But now she is a vampire, never to blush again.

FAMILY

Her mother is Renee Dwyer, and her father is Charlie Swan. Her step-dad is Phil Dwyer, her mother in-law is Esme, her father in-law is Carlisle, but they just consider her as their daughter. Her sister 0n-laws are Alice and Rosalie, and her brother in-laws are Emmett and Jasper. Of course, all of them think of her like their sister. Such as Emmett, when he said, ‘”You’re monopolizing the bride. Let me dance with my little sister. This could be my last chance to make her blush.”‘ So, there is one example. And Carlisle says she is already a beloved daughter in the fourth book when he is speaking to Jacob Black. She inherited some cousins, the Denalis. Jacob Black is like family to her I guess, and will probably be her son in-law, considering he inprinted on Renesmee. And, of course, Edward is her suol mate/husband.

GIFT

Bella is what you call a shield. Hers is purely mental; it protects her, keeps every one out. That is why Edward and Aro cannot hear her, why Jane cannot hurt her, why Zafrina can’t show Bella her “pretty pictures” as  Nessie (Renesmee) puts it, why Kate can’t shock her, why Demetri can’t track her, and all of the other vampires gifts that are rendered useless by her shield.

Renesmee is only about 7 months old I think, but I can’t be sure. She was carried by Bella for only 2 weeks, and was born on September 10th. She is half-human and half-vampire. She gains a half year of development every month. But although her growth rate is slowing, her mind continues to race ahead. She will reach physical maturity after about seven years and she will look to be about seventeen. Then she will halt aging completely. Just one week after she was born, she said her first word, which actually turned into her first sentence. At three months, she could even read. Her skin is as hot as a werewolves, but is as impenetrable as a vampire’s. She can survive on food or blood, although she prefers blood. She thinks that donated blood makes a good compromise.

FAMILY

Her parents are Bella and Edward Cullen, her grandparents are Charlie Swan, Renee, Carlisle Cullen, and Esme Cullen. Alice Cullen and Rosalie Hale are her aunts, and Emmett Cullen and Jasper Hale are her uncles.

GIFT

I’m not really sure if there is a name for what Renesmee does, but she took Edward and Bella’s gifts, and flipped them. Bella keeps everyone out of her mind, and no one keeps Renesmee out. And where Edward reads minds, Renesmee puts her hand to your face to show you what she’s thinking. Well, really she shows you pictures of what she’s thinking, but it’s very effective as means of communication go, considering that she still prefers not to speak aloud, even though she can with flawless grammer and articulation.
